Robots in Disguise 2015 definitely has some of the more unique Transformers designs, and Quillfire is no exception.
Most of the decepticon designs in the cartoon are based off of animals, and in this instance, that animal is a porcupine. The design of this toy really is superb, and you can definitely tell that the designers were inspired by porcupines. One of the spikes on his back is even removable, and can be used as a knife! Also, the design of his blaster looks similar to the Covenant Needler from the Halo videogames.
Another interesting thing is how they took Bulkhead's vehicle mode and created a completely different robot mode. At first I thought I wouldn't like it, since they used the same vehicle mode as a character from a previous show, however, I quite enjoy the sense of familiarity while also having a robot mode that feels completely new and original.
What don't I like about this toy? Not much, to be honest. I do wish the panels on his arms would fold so that they wouldn't get in the way when turning his arm sideways, and wrist swivels would have been nice, as well.
Quillfire is definitely one of the better and more interesting RID 2015 figures; pick him up if you get the chance.
