Out of the box, you wouldn't think this needs much work as it the amount of paint included is actually quite good. Althought the quality of the factory stickers is visible poor.
Alt mode has few stickers other than the wings and a couple of symbols, but the paint apps are really good on this mode.
The gold, red and silver are well placed making it seem that extra stickers aren't really necessary.
This set comes with several alternatives! Leaving enough to use on a few other of your friends' figures!
There is a whole hologlow alt set and many options for the tank turret front and the shoulder pads
As always the improvements are amazing. I feel that the alt mode and the jet section receive most love.
To be honest, I hessitated a lot before applying the wings stickers. The originals are not bad at all and were in good condition. But I knew I should trust Toyhax and went for their proposed stickers.
I must say that the end result is much better, the clear color contrast on the wings hightlight them much more than the dim colors it had before.
Additionally, there is a log of detail near the cockpit and other wings. It makes the whole thing pop!
Tank mode also gets a fair amount of love. More visible the front stickers. There are several options here.
Since the Decepticon stickers were pretty crappy here I knew I had to replace them and I went with the red ones.
I love when the stickers come with highlights for the lights of the vehicles. On the tank we get yellow for the front and red on the back, much like a car. The former will be visible in bot mode.
The side stickers also bring much detail and break the full black side view of the tank.
Looking back I think that a mix and match of the options for the turret's front would have also been a good way to go.
Here you can see the extra love the tiny details get!
Bot mode gets only small highlights, but very well received.
The upper thighs and shins get detail stickers that break the large blocks of gray and black.
