Transformers collector?
I waited too long to open Chromedome. When first announced I wasn't sure that I'd be OK with the hood not being its chest, and from the pictures I saw later I was underwhelmed with the Titan Master look, but after seeing more in hand pictures of it I started to like it more. Specially with the MTMTE face!
The proportions are great and the paint applications are good enough. Specially in robot mode where the legs, chest an arms get a few extra color that makes it all look like Chromedome.
Car mode is great! It is unmistakeably Chromedome. The car captures the original figure faithfully.
I find the top window a bit tricky to open every time and the way the legs lock together can be sometimes too hard, enough to make me nervous once it's completely locked in.
Normally, this is not a MUST HAVE set, given that Chromedome is good enough by iself, but I wanted to pimp it to look great next to Rewind.
The application wasn't complicated, all stickers were faily obvious. I chose for the non holloglow alternatives where possible.
The hubcap stickers were quite easy to apply, Unlike Windblade's wing turbines, this did not feel like a chore at all. Be careful pulling the wheels out as I got stress marks on one of the rods.
In car mode, most of the action is visible from the back. The lights and back window silver is very noticeable.
This time, the sticker that I was dubious to add was the front hood decorations, they were very similar to the existing paint. Still I went with it and I'm glad I did.
The extra bits in robot mode are a ncie addition, I quite like the visor sticker and the added detail on arms an legs make the figure pop out much more.
In order to fully pimp my Chromedome, I got a few of Nonnef accessories. An extra gun and the articulated wrist hand set.
I must say that I'm underwhelmed by this accessories. The quality is great! But they don't work well at all.
The hands look great, and they fit solidly in the figure, the problem is the 5mm port. It is too big for the standard gun that comes with Chromedome so it cannot get a grip. It needs some nail polish application on the peg so it fits snugly.
Ironically enough, the Nonnef gun also does not fit the Nonnef hands. The peg is not a full circle but more like a 5mm rectangle that will only go so far on the fist.
Both new fists have a thumb like area that helps you identify which one is right and left. What's funny though is that if you install the hands inverted and with the open area to the outside, the guns fit much better, although aiming in weird positions.
At the end, I see little to no benefit of getting the extra wrists on Chromedome, there are very few extra poses that he can get with the extra joint and makes it impossible to get a good grip on the guns.
Of course I had to take this picture! Both pimped and labeled up!
